UCB : Closing of the sale of Methylamines & Derivatives Activities

Brussels, Belgium, September 30, 2003 - UCB confirms the sale of its Methylamines & Derivatives business to the company formed by NIB Capital Private Equity N.V., as already announced early August. All these activities grouped together in a separate business unit under the name "Taminco", were part of Surface Specialties.

Closing of the transaction took place on September 30, 2003. As mentioned before, the transaction amount is € 115 million.
